Glaucoma awareness programme as a part of world glaucoma week was conducted at Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be ) University Medical College and Hospital,Sangli on 10/03/22 .
he programme was chaired by Dr Sanjay Patil - District ophthalmic surgeon , Sangli. Regional director honorable H.M Kadam , Dean - Dr Shahaji Deshmukh, Medical superintendent - Dr Sara Dhanawade, Dy Dean - Dr Sunil Patil graced the occasion. Poster exhibition by undergraduate , postgraduate and optometry students was arranged , following which there were talks on glaucoma awareness by Professor & HOD , Ophthalmology - Dr Ajit K Joshi & Dr Ramya(junior resident) , the programme being anchored by Dr Medha( junior resident).
Distribution of free glaucoma drugs was arranged along with glaucoma awareness pamphlet distribution.
Felicitation of paraophthalmic workers was also done. Later, prize distribution for the poster competition winners was conducted.
